Acrylic, plaster, and epoxy on PVC sheet on panel, in steel frame, 46 x 38 inches, 2012
In 2012, I revisited Corrugators, but built up corrugations by carving wet acrylic and plaster with a serrated squeegee. Layers of pigmented acrylic fluid were then applied, and finally a layer of epoxy to seal the work. All the works in this later series are set in a custom built steel frame — a rugged contrast to the delicate gradations of the undulating surface.
In Peripatat, I extended the process by cutting a large panel into small sections and rearranging them as a mosaic.
